Privacy Policy

Open Market Intel ("we", "us", "our") operates openmarketintel.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly. This includes your email address and display name when you create an account, either with an email and password or by signing in with Google, and your preferences when you set up rate alerts. If you contact us, we keep that correspondence.

We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as IP addresses and request logs, to keep the service secure and reliable.

Banking product information shown on this site is not personal information. It is product reference data published openly by providers under Australia's Consumer Data Right. We do not collect, access, or store anyone's banking data, account data, or transaction data.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate your account, deliver the alerts you subscribe to, respond to your enquiries, secure the service, and improve it. We do not sell personal information. We do not share your information with banks or product providers.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the site, including providers for email delivery, sign-in with Google, and AI features. Some of these providers process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We only share what is needed for them to provide their service to us.

AI features

If you use the AI chat, the questions you submit are processed by our AI provider to generate a response. Do not include sensitive personal or financial details in chat messages.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for essential purposes only, such as keeping you signed in and remembering interface preferences. We do not use third party advertising cookies.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and industry standard credential handling. We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes above, or as required by law.

Access, correction, and deletion

You can access and update your details from your account page. You can ask us to correct or delete your personal information at any time by emailing support@openmarketintel.com.

Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at support@openmarketintel.com and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
